Located in southeastern Peru in the Andes Mountains, Cusco sits on the capital site of the Inca empire. The city is an extremely popular tourist destination and serves as a gateway to the Incan Trail and the world famous ruins at Machu Picchu. The Spanish school is housed in a gorgeous 19th century colonial home directly behind the Qorikancha, the Pre-Colombian Temple of the Sun.
The academy building consists of two floors with 15 classrooms, an auditorium, a media room and an interior plaza. The language school is located close to the post office, banks and about four blocks from La Plaza de Armas which serves as the central meeting area in Cusco. A number of great restaurants, cafes and pubs can also be found in the neighborhood.

20 lessons of group Spanish courses per week totaling 18 hours and 20 minutes. Small group courses are limited to a maximum of 5 students per class, and are broken into two, 1 hour and 50 minute blocks each morning.

(Private room, half-board) Living with a local Peruvian family in Cusco is the best way to learn a lot of Spanish in a short amount of time. Host family students are given a private room and their own key so they can come and go as they please. Half board (daily breakfast and dinner) and laundry service is included in the price of the host family. Families are hand-selected by the accommodation staff and are very experienced in hosting students from around the world. They can accommodate virtually any diet, allergy or preference. If you have any special preferences or dislikes (such as smoking, pets, young children), please indicate them on your registration form. Families are generally located within a 10 minute walk or bus ride from campus.

The closest airport to book flights into is Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport in Cusco. Students can also fly into Lima if necessary (see Lima pickup option below). Once you book a flight you will need to book transport to Cusco.
If you need airport transfer from Cusco airport, please request it when registering and your host family will pick you up for a transfer fee of $25. Students can also take a taxi for a rate around $10-15.
If you are flying into Lima, the school can arrange a pickup package for you that includes a one night stay in Lima, transportation back to Lima airport, one way airfare to Cusco, and Lima airport assistance.

The Academia is registered with and recognized by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture and Education of Peru. Classes are taught completely in Spanish, by native Spanish speakers and focus on the four language skills: listening, grammar, oral and written comprehension. Spanish courses incorporate written exercises from textbooks, discussions and debates, newspapers, videos, audio lessons, etc. All professors have university degrees.
