Nice does not have a shortage of history, with many excursion options to view ancient cathedrals and famous museums. Standard 15 French

20 lessons per week, Monday-Friday, totaling 15 hours of class time. This course provides students with an ideal mix of immersive French language instruction paired with time to explore the cultural attractions Nice has to offer. Writing, reading, speaking, and listening are used in each lesson to contribute to the grammar study and discussion that are key to the curriculum of Actilangue.

Intensive 23 French

30 lessons per week, Monday-Friday, totaling 22.5 hours of class time. This course is a great option for students who would like to take their French language learning experience to the next level. The lessons are the same as the Standard course in the mornings, but with an additional element of two afternoon training sessions to work on improving oral skills.

Living with a French Family

Host Family

(Private room, half board) As a visitor in Nice the best way to become accustomed to its language, people, and culture is by staying with a host family. Each of the host families offered through Actilangue are carefully selected and located 5-20 minutes, either on foot or by bus, from the school. Students will be welcomed warmly into the homes of these families and feel comfortable in no time. Additionally, host families will show the students how to get to Actilangue on the first day. This atmosphere will let students experience the true French way of life while learning the language!

There are two ways of arriving in Nice - by plane or by train. For each there exists the option of a student's host family to pick them up for a returnable fee of 26 euros. Families are able to coordinate pick-ups/returns anytime between 8am and 8pm.

If arriving by Train:

  • The main Train Station, Gare de Nice-Ville, is located about 5 minutes from Actilangue and provides High speed services (TGV), Regional and Local services (TER), as well as Night services (Lunéa). More information regarding times/locations can be found here.

  • The airport, Nice Côte d'Azur International Airport, is located about 10 minutes from the school. If needed there are multiple lines of buses and shuttles which can take students to any location within Nice. More information regarding airport schedules and services can be found here.

Actilangue Institute makes a point to provide a large amount of diverse group excursions for students to meet others as well as become fully immersed in the culture of southern France. Some examples of these social activities include:

  • Bus trips outside of the city to explore various outlying towns and areas such as the Principality of Monaco, Grasse, Cannes, St.-Paul-de-Vence, St.-Tropez, Port-Grimaud, and more...
  • Active sports outings. To name a few: gorge run (canyoning), biking, hiking, walking, diving, tennis, swimming, sailing, wind-surfing, etc.
  • Sights in Nice: the Old City and the Castle
  • Educational sights in Nice: The Matisse Museum, Arenes De Cimiez, and The Chagall Museum
  • A trip to Biot-Vallauris to see the famous glassworks and ceramics that are made there
  • Take a small road train for a trip around Cap-Ferrat. Visit the Kerylos Greek Mansion and the Ephrussi de Rothschild Museum
  • A visit to Antibes to see the Old City and The Picasso Museum
