An engaged class at Alpadia Language Schools

Lyon Standard 15 French

(For absolute beginners) 20 lessons, totaling 15 hours of class time, per week. For the most part classes take place in the mornings, leaving students with free time in the afternoons for activities (great for practicing French around the city). This course is recommended for absolute beginners of learning the language. Start dates for Standard 20 are limited to these dates: March 2nd / May 4th / June 29th / August 8th / September 7th / November 2nd, 2015.

Focused students in an Alpadia Language Schools class

Lyon Intensive 23 French

30 classes, totaling 22.5 hours of class time, per week. 1 of the lessons out of the daily 6 is focused purely on writing skills and takes place in mini-groups (maximum of 5 other students). This course is great for students wishing to improve their French oral and written communication skills as well as make rapid progress in learning the language.

(Private room, half board) By residing with a host family your stay in Lyon will take on an additional dimension. Alpadia offers this rewarding homestay experience to ensure that students feel like they are learning the language in the world around them as well as in the classroom. Students will walk away with an increased understanding of local culture, everyday expressions, and the French way of life.

There is one main airport in Lyon, the Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport. Located about 30 minutes away and 16 miles to the east of the city, it is easy to arrive at the school if traveling by plane. Students should look into one of these options for transportation to Alpadia Lyon:

Students will improve their linguistic and communications skills as well as participate in hand-on activities and exercises. This will allow them to receive an in-depth, intensive study of the French language while being able to have fun at the same time. Certified Alpadia Lyon teachers engage with students and teach them to increase their oral and written communication in French. If taking an advanced class, the option is available to work even more on practicing writing skills within a smaller group.
