Students learning french at EC Montreal will be able to delve into immersive language courses and experience this unique city in their free time. As the second-largest city in Canada, and with over half the population speaking French, Montreal is a great place to become acquainted with the French language. Experience all that the area has to offer, with a friendly and diverse downtown as well as an abundance of outdoor activities available just an hour away in the Laurentian Mountains. The school is equipped with a self-study room, student lounge and resource center, free WiFi, and 20 computers.

French Courses

EC Montreal Standard 18 French

24 French classes per week, totaling 18 hours of instruction. This semi-intensive course allows students to take more classes per week, maximizing their time in the classroom to benefit from the creative and energetic atmosphere. Students taking this course will also have a variety of extracurriculars to choose from which will help to increase fluency in no time.


Starts at $320 for one week

EC Montreal Intensive 22.5 French

30 French classes per week, totaling 22.5 hours of instruction. This intensive course allows students to take more classes per week, maximizing their time in the classroom to benefit from the creative and energetic atmosphere. Students taking this course will also have a variety of extracurriculars to choose from which will help to increase fluency and further understanding of the language in no time.

Accommodation

Host Family in Montreal

(Single room, half board) Staying with a family in Montreal will allow students to fully become immersed in the French-Canadian culture. Homes and families are thoroughly checked by the school and are located at least within 60 minutes of the school by public transit. The diversity and authenticity of this area is reflected in the lives of the families. Speaking French for extended periods of time and having the support of host families will let students reap all the rewards of this experience.

With the General French program, students can choose from a wide range of electives. For example:

  • Cultural events such as music and arts festivals or "Sugar Shack" maple syrup visit

EC French in Montreal is the only french program offered by English Centres. A highly accredited program is taught by experienced and qualified teachers who provide constant support in the classroom. Students in the semi-intensive 24 and intensive 30 courses will benefit from more class time, become fully engaged with the language, and will develop fluency as the courses progress. Listening, speaking, writing, and reading will be taught by dynamic and interactive activities, meant to motivate and encourage students the whole way.
