Escuela Montalbán's friendly environment and charming Spanish campus is the perfect place to dive into Spanish language immersion. Situated in a quiet area, but just 10 minutes from the city center, students will find that there is no shortage of activities to partake in at Escuela Montalbán. Whether deciding to gain cultural experience through trekking in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada, learning flamenco at one of the exciting local bars, or enjoying a drink and tapas in a small square in Granada, opportunities for exploration are limitless.

Spanish Courses

Standard 15 Spanish

This Standard course is a great way to immerse yourself in the Spanish language and improve your linguistic skills while leaving time for extra excursions, trips, and cultural opportunities. 4 courses; either 9:00am-12:15pm or 12:30pm-3:45pm. All levels are welcome.


Starts at €175 for one week

Intensive 23 Spanish

This Intensive course is a great option if the aim of your Spanish trip is to improve your linguistic skills and become fully immersed in the language. Grammar lessons take place in the mornings and those skills are used in conversational and interactive activities during afternoon sessions. 6 courses; 9:00am-12:15pm and 12:30pm-2:00pm. All levels are welcome.

Spanish & Sport

Choose between horseback riding, hiking, rock climbing, or yoga and add some activity into your Spanish immersion trip! This option is an addition to whichever language course you choose (horseback riding/hiking/rock climbing: 2 afternoons per week as a One-to-One program. yoga: 4 group lessons of 45 minutes per week).

Spanish & Dancing

Choose between Flamenco, Tango, or Salsa and dance your way through your Spanish immersion trip! This option is an addition to whichever language course you choose (Flamenco: 6 private lessons of 45 minutes per week. Tango: 4 private lessons of 60 minutes per week. Salsa: 4 group lessons of 45 minutes per week).

Spanish & Art

Choose between photo walks, cooking, or tile painting and tap into your creative side during your Spanish immersion trip! This option is a One-to-One program in addition to whichever language course you choose (photo walks: 2 afternoons per week. cooking workshop: 6 lessons of 45 minutes per week during 3 evenings--includes dinner. ceramic tile painting: 1 afternoon of 3 hours per week).

Private 1:1 + Standard 19

This Standard (group) + Private (one-on-one) course is a great way to immerse yourself in the Spanish language and improve your linguistic skills. Experience a class group setting as well as receive one individual lesson per day. This course leaves time for students to partake in extra cultural activities. 5 courses; 9:00am-1:15pm. All levels are welcome.

Host Family Double Room

(private room, half board) Staying with a host family in Granda is a great way to get the most out of your experience. Learn the everyday customs of life in Southern Spain and have the chance to practice your newly-improved Spanish speaking skills when you return home. Host families will provide breakfast and dinner as well as a laundry service once a week. Note: price for the double room is per person.

Student Residence Double Room

(private room, half board) As a University town, Granada is a great place to stay with other students and connect with people from different backgrounds. Most of the student residences are located in the city center with superb access to the main shopping areas and historical sites. Residences provide breakfast and dinner as well as a laundry service and free Internet access. Note: price for the double room is per person.

How to get to Andalusia:

By Plane-

Most European airports have connections to the Malaga, Spain airport. Once there, an hourly bus service runs to Granda. Note: Escuela Montalbán can provide transfer from Malaga to your accommodation in Granada for 180 euros.

The Granada airport has flight connections to Barcelona and Madrid. Note: The school can provide transfer from the Granada airport to your accommodation for 45 euros.

In addition to the Spanish language learning + Culture (art, sport, cooking) classes that students can take, a multitude of activities are available weekly to help students explore Granada and the surrounding area:

Day trips are also offered to Seville, Cordoba, the Costa Tropical, the Alpujarra Mountains, and various natural parks.

One of the language institutes under the network of TANDEM International, Escuela Montalbán is highly accredited and offers D.E.L.E. certification as well as top-notch professors. Courses are taught in small groups to ensure that each student receives individual attention.
